Title: A-OK! Acts of Kindness Weekend
When: 09.11.2010 - 09.12.2010
Location: Throughout the City of Syracuse
Category: Community Events

Description

Nearly 100 projects are set and we’re getting much  media attention for our upcoming Sept. 11-12  A-OK! Acts of Kindness Weekend. Ed Griffin-Nolan wrote this column in the New Times and Columnist Sean Kirst wrote about A-OK in the Post Standard (click the underlined type to read these articles).  A-OK! Weekend was recently featured on Central Issues on WCNY-TV with  WTB Co-Founders Danya Wellmon and Betsy Wiggins as guests.

This amazing weekend of volunteerism will take place Sept. 11-12, 2010. What a terrific way to honor the lives of those killed in 2001 by giving back to our own community and working side-by-side with diverse people.

Volunteers are still needed. Can you help paint a mural, clear brush along a creek, write letters to service members?  These are but a few of the ways to get involved.  Even an hour of your time that weekend will make a difference in the lives of others.

We’ll all work at various times and places across metro Syracuse on Saturday and Sunday and then join together for a service of celebration at Hendricks Chapel on the SU hill on Sunday at 4 p.m.
