Description

7th Annual Duck Race to End Racism
City/County Proclaim June 6th
Don't Duck Racism Day

Saturday, June 6th,  noon - 4 pm at the Syracuse Inner Harbor, corner of Solar and Kirkpatrick Street, the 7th Annual Duck Race to End Racism will take place.

Attended by 3,000 people last year, this fun filled, free family event draws a diverse audience - corporate leaders, 3rd grade teachers and students from city and county schools, nonprofit organizations and thousands of people from city and suburbs.

The Duck Race is a family festival with games, face painting, music, entertainment, free Byrne Dairy ice cream, food, community information booths and, best of all, duck races down Onondaga Creek to the Inner Harbor.

Duck tickets to enter the Community Race and be eligible for thousands of dollars worth of prizes can be purchased up through the day of the race.

Beth Broadway, Director of Community Wide Dialogue, a program of Interfaith Works invites the community to attend the Duck Race and support the work of ending racism. "Many communities have not embraced the dialogue to end racism, but Syracuse and Onondaga County have had over 7,000 people in dialogues to end racism, including adults, teens and children. The Duck Race provides needed funds to help us keep this important program going."

Corporate co-sponsors this year are Syracuse University and National Grid.
